Oumi Sasaya, Lomita

Fresh tofu comes first as a starter.
Tempura plate comes with Chicken, Shrimp, and Zucchini.

Curry Udon is one of their favorite items. The curry flavor was very good but their home made noodle was little soft.

Umemura Ramen, Gardena

Miso Tan Tan Ramen has a deep rich flavor. They serve homemade noodle. It was good but I would've liked more chewy. I wonder if I can ask for al dente like Shinsengumi Hakata Ramen...
I read a lot of people liked this Umani Ramen from Yelp with stir fry veggies and pork in thick gravy sauce. I prefer Sutamina Ramen from Eboshi noodle bar. It has even more veggies and fried garlic!
Very light in flavor and no ginger on the side....

Gyoza was well cooked but flavor wasn't quite there. Somehow the stuffing had too much cabbage, not enough meat. It had a little bitter after taste.

Kantaro Sushi, Torrance

Kantaro serves mostly traditional sushi. I had their Omakase ($39.99) set. It comes with Salad, Sashimi, Sushi, miso soup, Chirashi, and ice cream. It is well worth the price.

Dover Sole sashimi + fry for $14.99.
It's crackin' good.
Tuna Chirashi came with different pickles, salad, miso soup, and ice cream.
Spicy Tuna had a nice kick to it.
Omakase sashimi set. Monk fish liver, Tuna, and Red snapper wrapped in seaweed.
Mackerel and Squid
Toro and yellowtail
Scallop and Round clam
Mini Chirashi with Salmon roe, Sea urchin, Tuna, and Octopus accompanied by Salmon with cream cheese.
Eel, Tuna hand roll, and Sweet egg
The last course of Omakase is green tea ice cream.

Eboshi Noodle Bar, Lomita

Chanpon has clean and savory shoyu flavor. Pork is marinated before stir fried unlike other Ramen places. All the vegetables are cooked fast in the hot wok to seal their fresh taste.
Sutamina Ramen has fried garlic, veges and pork on Shoyu Ramen. Little oily but full of flavor.
Miso Ramen and 1/2 chahan with deep dark miso flavor.

Chahan has a good texture and flavor but oily.

Angel's Restaurant, Mammoth Lakes 2

The second time visiting the Angel's, we had to wait at least 40 minutes to get our table. I guess because it was a labor day weekend.

My favorite sauce is the regular one in the middle.
They didn't offer me any biscuits at lunch time. They were delicious. Flaky and hot. The butter was also whipped with honey in it.
We had the french onion soup again. It was so so this time around.
This was the highlight of the whole meal. The special Barnyard combo for $15.99. 1/4 chicken, beef and pork ribs and fried Mac n cheese. 4 of us ordered 2 and we had a box full of leftover.

Gus's Fresh Jerky, Olancha

I finally get to have this. People have been telling me about this fresh jerky place.

I got the orignal, teriyaki turkey, pepperoni, and spicy. Don't get pepperoni. I think it was made from all the leftover trimmings and fat. It was very oily. Other ones were very good with natural flavors.

There is a chicken coop in the back where you can feed them. They didn't look that healthy. They were molting or something. All I can say is, I am glad they didn't sell any chicken jerky.

Country Kitchen, Big Pine

We stopped by this small local restaurant in Big Pine on the way to Lake Tahoe.
Pastrami, Rueben, and French dip were all made well but slightly small in size.

Their beer battered onion rings were just awesome. Crunchy and light.
