Eat at Rudy's, Torrance

Just like Eat at Joe's in Redondo Beach, the food was farm fresh without a wait for the picnic table you need to share with strangers at Joe's.

One of my favorite breakfast menu is country breakfast with flavorful and crunchy country potatoes, sausage patties, homemade biscuits & gravy, and over easy eggs. I thought Pann's restaurant's biscuits and gravy was better with hearty sausage flavor in the gravy and flakier biscuits. Rudy's hot salsa condiment was a great compliment to my potatoes.

This is called, John Wayne's breakfast. I am not sure why but it was interesting mixture of traditional American with Mexican sauce on the top. It tasted kinda like chile verde. It was good but I would order more traditional breakfast like french toast and bacon next time.

Sakura-ya Mochigashi, Gardena

I like fresh Mochigashi (Confectionery Rice Cake). I had a lot of freshly made Mochigashi from Fugetsu-do and other popular places. I think this place is by far the best for their silky smooth mochi and perfectly sweet fillings. It taste naturally sweet without tons of sugar in them like other places.

Schat's Bakery, Mammoth Lakes & Bishop

Erick Schat's Bakery in Bishop
This place is an original Schat's and it shows by how crowded it was compare to the one in Mammoth Lakes.

Shea Schat's Bakery in Mammoth Lakes

I am not really into bread but I heard so much about Schat's Bakery that I went overboard and bought $70 worth of bread and pastry. It was fresh and yummy but it's hard for me to judge if this is that fantastic.

Angel's Restaurant, Mammoth Lakes

Their French onion soup had a good flavor without being too salty. Don't you just love to scrap off the cheese on the side of the bowl???

The Pink Chicken was smoked for hours in the smoker at the back of the restaurant. It had a good smoky flavor but could be better with the seasoning.

The Kobe beef rib was so tender. I was really glad the BBQ wasn't smothered with BBQ sauce. I can really taste the meat flavor and it was so good. Their sweet potato fries weren't that good. It was just dry to me. I liked their potato fries much better, crunch on the outside and soft inside.
