Ikko, Torrance

This is Izakaya and sushi restaurant.

They have a special dinner set every 2 weeks. Call a day ahead to make a reservation.

It's always best to try their daily specials.

One of their most popular dishes. Eggplant Tempura & Spicy Tuna w/wasabi Smelt egg($8.45) It was bit salty but very good. All their wasabi is freshly grated.

Deep fried Tuna w/wasabi Tartar sauce($7.95) The flavor was very good but I wish the fried Tuna is more crispy.
Now, talking about crispy($2.50) This is small fish bone crackers. Very crunchy and full of calcium! Yummy~

Stir fried Black Pork Sausage & Japanese green peppers($6.75) It was smoky and juicy.

Broiled Chicken stuffed with brown rice w/ginger sauce($7.95) It's similar to Korean-style rice stuffed chicken. The dried or fried turnip could be crispier. The ginger sauce worked well with chicken.

Broiled Tuna Cheek ($10) was like very tender beef. It was amazingly tasty.

Toro & Scallion roll($10) It had a good amount of fresh wasabi in it. This was a better way to make a spicy tuna than with the chili oil. It complimented the fish much better.

Uni was the best I've had anywhere. Very fresh and creamy.

Ichimi-an, Rolling Hills

Chirashi Sushi dinner set

Beautifully arranged sashimi with tamago over sushi rice. Uni was just delightful.
They are known for their fresh soba noodles. I highly recommend their sushi also.

Thai Eggplant with Basil, NoBori

Thai style eggplant stir fry with Basil.

I used Japanese eggplant, Cayenne pepper and basil from my garden. I also added some lemongrass for extra flavor.

Beautiful desserts...I ate them all!

All the dishes including desserts were well prepared with fresh ingredients.

You better starve for a whole day and prepare your stomach for this $70 brunch.
